SKISA KARATE PROTEAS HONORED BY FIRST LADY DR BONGI NGEMA-ZUMA
SKISA karate Proteas were overwhelmed by the presence of our first lady Dr Bongi Ngema –Zuma at their presentation awards gala dinner banquet last week end
Moreover the champions of Africa Zone 6 recent championships were delighted to receive their Protea award trophies from the first lady at the said banquet
“To be honoured by our first lady is a very special occasion indeed “said Africa’s triple gold medallist Riasha Singh who received the “Highflyer” award
President of KSA Sonny Pillay expressed his gratitude to the firsty lady for making our athletes feel very special on Woman’s day ” I am certain our SKISA Protea athletes will never forget the special occasion with the first lady in attendance” said the SA karate legend Kyoshi Pillay.
The SKISA Organisation who produced a record number of Protea athletes numbering eighteen in the current year agreed to partner the first lady Dr Bongi Ngema-Zuma in her fight against diabetes through its karate activities amongst the disadvantaged communities

A very happy and excited 15 member strong “SKISA “ Protea Team ( headed by coach Brando Pillay) returned to King Shaka airport on Monday evening with a bagful of medals
Their outstanding performance at the Zone 6 Africa championships hosted in Zambia received huge praise from the President of Karate South Africa Kyoshi Sonny Pillay
“The ‘SKISA” Proteas made a positive impact on the African stage” said the SA Karate legend Kyoshi Pillay “ I am confident that WKF world champions are soon to emerge from these seasoned tournament fighters” added the National President
National all styles universities ladies black belt champion Riasha Singh captured three Africa titles with her haul of three gold medals certainly an all time African record
“It would be fair to say our lady Riasha set the championships “ablaze” with her dynamic performance in Zambia “said team KSA Head coach Brando Pillay who has personally mentored Riasha for the past 7 years
All Fifteen SKISA members (the largest contingent of athletes in the Protea team ) team regularly attend advanced coaching workshops at the Tongaat sports centre under the watchful eye of Protea coach Brando Pillay
The KSA CEO Carlos Vilela who served as the GM of the tour expressed his absolute delight at the athletes all round performance and described it as “Awesome “
SKISA’S official medical commission members Doctors Reddy and Khan both rendered medical back up at the Africa Zone 6 event and ensured that injuries were treated timeously
Kyoshi Sonny Pillay also congratulated the TEAM KSA (male and female) who made the Rainbow proud by being crowned Africa Zone 6 champions 2014 in the team events
